It all started when our mutual friend Josh asked me for a ride to take his crush out on a date (he didn’t have a car, and I did). I told him I wasn’t about to be their personal Uber driver—unless we turned it into a double date. “Bring a friend,” I said. What he didn’t know was that I already had just the friend in mind.
Just a couple weeks earlier, everyone at school had been buzzing about the new kid—Reid, who had just moved from Colorado at the start of our junior year. Naturally, I did a little social media digging and even started changing my usual walking routes just to pass by him in the halls. At that point, Reid didn’t even know who I was... but I definitely knew who he was.
So when Josh asked which friend to bring, I didn’t hesitate—“Reid.”
That night, after I dropped Reid off, I turned to Josh and said, “I think I’m in love with this man.” A little over a month later, on November 12th, Reid asked me to be his girlfriend—and we’ve been falling for each other more every day since.
We dated all throughout junior and senior year.
—me heading to UT (Hook 'em!) and Reid to a small, little-known school called A&M (boo!)—there wasn’t even a question. Of course we were staying together. We both knew this wasn’t just high school love; it was our forever. We knew without a doubt: this was it. We were in it for the long haul.
For nearly four years, we’ve made the two-hour drive back and forth, never once taking our time together for granted. Long distance isn’t always easy, but it’s made our relationship stronger. Every moment apart, has only made our love deeper.
On March 8th, 2025, Reid got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife—and saying “yes” was the easiest decision I’ve ever made.
It still amazes us that what started as a high school crush at 16 has turned into the deepest, most passionate love of our lives. And now, we get to say “I do.”
We are in awe of the journey God has written for us. His hand has been in every step, and we are so grateful for the beautiful, passionate, once-in-a-lifetime love He’s given us.
We cannot wait to celebrate this next chapter with all of you—our favorite people in the world!
